PORT OF SEATTLE AWARDS UK REPRESENTATION CONTRACT

TO CORE COMMUNICATIONS

The Port of Seattle has selected tourism marketing specialists Core Communications Ltd as their UK and Ireland representative effective January 1, 2016, to provide media relations and travel trade marketing for Seattle and Washington State leisure travel development.

Core Communications Europe Ltd (Core) is a UK-based media communications and marketing agency, established in 2004 by its Director, Caroline Corfield-Rose. Core contracts with senior industry associates who deliver client work personally under Caroline’s direction.

The team will be headed by Caroline Corfield-Rose, Director, with her deputy Angie Colombo who will lead the travel industry work and Brian Robinson who will provide copy writing and strategic input. The team is further supported by Linda Shelton who brings trade and consumer marketing expertise; Jo Wiggall Lazarus on strategic counsel and Denise Pritchard on social and digital marketing.

Seattle is one of the U.S fastest-growing cities, and is home to world-class brands such as Starbucks, Microsoft, Boeing and Amazon.com.  2016 is slated to be the biggest cruise year yet, with nearly a million passengers taking a cruise to Alaska from Seattle’s harbour. Washington State is the U.S. second largest wine producing state, and is in the forefront of the farm-to-table movement. Seattle offers a great option for city breaks as well as extended stays to explore the diverse state.

Patti Denny, International Tourism Development Manager for the Port of Seattle, says; “Core will bring a fresh strategy to raise awareness of our destination in the U.K.  We have been working in this market for three decades, and it will be exciting to see where we can take this partnership”.

Seattle benefits from multiple daily flights from the UK including non-stop service via British Airways and Delta Air Lines and one-stop service from Icelandair.
